Google Mobile App with Voice Search Released

Google's Voice App for the iPhone

After some delay, the new version of Google Mobile App with Voice Search is finally available via iTunes even though the feature is strangely still not listed on its Application page.

You can simply click on the “Get App” button on its application page (via this iTunes link). It will download the new version of the app even though you have an older version of the App installed.

We haven’t been able to test it yet but based on some testing by MG Siegler of Venture Beat who first reported the news, the voice search feature seems to be quite accurate for the commonly used search keywords while finding tricky words like “parislemon†(the name of his personal blog) doesn’t exactly work.

The results of the voice search are displayed in the new search result pages that were recently optimized for the iPhone making it easier to launch iPhone’s Google map application or to make calls directly from the search results page.

We would love to hear your feedback on Google’s voice search feature for the iPhone.

Is it as good as the demo video of the app? Please tell us in the comments.
